Absolutely. You can be excited and nervous at the same time. We’ll ease into the session, and I’ll guide you through posing, movement, and expressions. You don’t have to arrive knowing what to do. Everyone you see in my portfolio was pretty nervous, too. You aren’t alone.
Where will my session take place?
Your session will take place in my exclusive, private studio located just minutes from Downtown Las Cruces. The exact address will be given once you are officially on the books and is sent out in the welcome guide.
What sets you apart from other photographers?
Great question. I’m not big on the comparing game, but I will say that sessions with me are an experience. We talk a lot about where you are on your journey. We talk about your insecurities. We set intentions for your session. We blast your favorite music. I take my time and find your essence and authentic beauty.
What if I’m awkward in front of the camera?
I hear this all the time. I’m awkward, too. We’ll work through it together.
Does every session include journey work?
No. Mini, Signature, and Immersive are photography experiences. The Guided Journey is a separate, full-day experience that includes guided reflection, mirror work, and visualization.
Will you reshape or photoshop my body?
Absolutely not. This whole experience is to help you see yourself in a new light. I want to help you face yourself and finally see beyond the flaws. I will definitely photoshop bruises, acne, and anything that is not permanent. I will not be altering your body or your scars/stretch marks. You have had a hell of a journey. Be proud of what your body has done with you.
When will I see my images?
Your reveal takes place the same day as your session. We’ll view your photographs together and choose your included digital images.
Can I purchase more images?
Yes. Additional prints and image packages start at $999. Your reveal is your only opportunity to place an order; unpurchased images are deleted afterward.
How does payment work?
Your session fee can be split into the payments listed for your experience and must be paid in full before your session date. Additional purchases are paid in full at your reveal, either cash or card... or through Affirm or Klarna, subject to provider approval.
Do you offer hair and makeup?
YES!! I have two amazing HMUAs that are absolutely incredible. Almost everyone you see in my portfolio has added on this service. Emily and Destinee have been with me for years and know exactly how to style you for sessions with me. They charge $75 for hair and $75 for makeup.
Can I bring a friend?
Your friend is more than welcome to arrive with you to the session. Once we start the session, I kindly ask that they step out. When the session is 1 on 1, that's when the environment is perfect for vulnerability and connection.
Flying solo to something is scary, intimidating, anxiety inducing... trust me I get it. Letting go of control is equally so. But you must trust in yourself, your decisions, and your capabilities. Remove the safety net and dare to jump.
Do you provide “liquid courage” during the shoot?
Short answer - Nope. I actually prohibit any alcohol consumption in the studio, period. This is a life changing experience and honestly, growth only happens when we are out of our comfort zones. I promise, you’ll be okay.
I'm a plus sized woman... can you photograph me?
Yes, absolutely. The size of your jeans doesn't mean SHIT. You are hot AF and I'm here to show you that. Period!
Will you pose me?
Of course!! You don't need to worry about that at all! I will guide you every step of the way!
Everyone you see on my website are normal, everyday paying clients. Most of them walked into my studio overthinking and nervous AF, the only difference between you and them is... they ended up in my studio before you. That's it.
I’m afraid I won’t look like the women in your portfolio. Will you pose me?
I will guide you every step of the way! I have a system, and while every session is unique in its own way, you will absolutely have images in similar set-ups with similar posing!
Can we go outside or on location?
I love the enthusiasm, but no. There are SO many variables when it comes to photographing this style outside, on location. Plus, I love my studio. 🙂

Always, and without exception. We photograph love and partnership in every configuration, in a space that's safe, affirming, and judgment-free from the first message to the final gallery.
Do I have to get naked or wear lingerie?
Absolutely not. You can wear as little or as much as you’d like. You can wear lingerie, an oversized sweater, a shirt, or something else that feels like you. We’ll work within your comfort level.
Will my photos be posted publicly on your site or social media?
Your session with me is completely private and images are NEVER shared anywhere without your written permission. I’d love to show off you & your images, if you’re game! If not, that's okay, too.
My partner is nervous and doesn’t love being in front of the camera, will this work?
Almost every couple has one nervous partner, if not, both. Melissa directs every moment, so neither of you has to know what to do. It feels less like posing and more like being together, with someone quietly catching the real thing. I am more than happy to hop on a call with you both to talk it through.
Will it feel awkward being intimate with a photographer there?
It might feel unfamiliar at first. I’ll give you clear direction so you can focus on each other without wondering what to do next. We’ll work within boundaries you’re both comfortable with.
Is anyone else in the room?
My assistant USUALLY, yes. They help move the lighting around and keep the session moving seamlessly.
Do we both need to know how to pose?
No. I’ll guide you both through positioning, movement, and expressions. You don’t have to know how to create the connection you’ve seen in my photographs.
Do we have to wear lingerie or be nude?
No. We can create intimate photographs while you’re dressed. Any lingerie or nudity is optional; nude or implied looks are available for her, while he keeps his bottoms on.

How do we choose our experience?
Mini gives you 30 minutes, the bed set, and one outfit. Signature adds more variety with 45 minutes, the bed and couch, and two outfits. Immersive gives you 1.5 hours, five sets, and time for dressed-up and more intimate looks.
Will our photographs be shared?
Only with written permission from both of you. You can keep the entire session private, and neither partner can authorize sharing on behalf of the other.

At your same-day reveal. You’ll select your included digital images and place any additional orders together. This is the only ordering opportunity; unpurchased images are deleted afterward.
